๐ฏ๐๐. ๐ด๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ง-๐๐๐ฉ๐จ graced the ceremonial turn-over of a complete set of equipment and facilities for the production of silk fiber, held at Brgy. Culao, Claveria, Cagayan on July 13, 2023.The Department of Agruiculture (DA) thru the PhilFIDA, turned over one (1) silk weaving and processing center, one (1) cocoon processing center, four (4) silkworm rearing houses, and one (1) young-age rearing house to support the Sericulture Development Project of the MLGU of Claveria, Cagayan.
Hon. SB member Romeo R. Rafol delivered a message in which he expressed appreciation to PhilFIDA for its unwavering support of the said project and claimed that the MLGU is willing to accept and assume management of its operation and maintenance.
Ms. Concepcion D. Jocson, OIC, Fiber Utilization and Technology Division, presented an overview of the project.
Mr. Edel M. Dondonilla, Regional Director-PhilFIDA Regional Office I, who is active in Research Development and Extension (RDE) activities, particularly in promoting fiber crops across different regions, provided an inspirational message.
Mayor Yapo expressed her appreciation to PhilFIDA for providing a probability for the MLGU of Claveria to be recognized for its efforts to promote the fiber industry, as well as to Ms. Leah Pulido Ocampo, Regional Director-DTI, for providing support to the local government in all its business-related operations.
Mayor Yapo also thanked Maโam Guillermina Magno, President of the Bonnieville Farmers Association, for her goodness in allowing the Sericulture Development Project to be developed on her private land.
Atty. Genevieve E. Velicaria-Guevarra, Assistant Secretary and Concurrent OIC, Executive Director, presented an inspiring message as the eventโs honored guest.
The event was witnessed by Ms. Guillermina T. Magno, PhilFIDA personnel, Engr. Orlando D. Cocal, OIC, Technical Assistance Division (TAD) and iFED, Ms. Leah Pulido Ocampo, Regional Director-DTI, represented by Ms. Princess JoyQuirpo, Ms. Virginia M. Lagadon, Municipal Agriculturist, Randolph Elizer G. Simon, Tourism Officer, Dr. Ryan Layus, Punong Barangay Julious H. Pascua and officials, and LGU staff.
