The seminar “Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Thematic Area Assessment Familiarization Cum Budgeting” has successfully ended. The seminar, led by Municipal Mayor Lucille Angelus Guillen-Yapo and Municipal Vice-Mayor Fredelino D. Agpuldo, CPA., MPA., with the active participation of the Sangguniang Bayan Members and Department Heads from the LGU of Claveria, addressed an extensive range of critical topics:
1. Disaster prevention and mitigation strategies were explored in depth.
2. Disaster preparedness was addressed, with insights from esteemed speakers such as RD Socrates F. Paat, Jr., Regional Director at PAG-ASA, and Mr. Romeo B. Ganal, Jr., a distinguished Meteorologist from PAG-ASA.
3. Effective disaster response strategies were discussed, facilitated by Mr. Rommel S. Gamiao, Social Welfare Officer III Head of the Disaster Response & Rehabilitation Section. He also serves as the EO 70 Regional Alternate Focal Person within the Disaster Response Division of the Field Office at the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
4. The intricate process of rehabilitation and recovery was explored, with expertise shared by Engr. Nicole Ardil D. Pagulong, an accomplished Economic Development Specialist I from the National Economic Development Authority, and Mr. Eric M. Cabutaje, a seasoned Senior Economic Development Specialist at the National Economic Development Authority.
5. Planning strategies were elucidated by For. Jayzon M. Sacro, Enp, Municipal Planning & Development Coordinator, providing valuable insights into the planning aspects of disaster risk reduction and management.
6. Budgeting considerations were covered by Ms. Joanne Hazel A. Neyra, EnP, MPA, Municipal Budget Officer, shedding light on the financial dimensions of disaster preparedness and response.
The seminar gave participants an extensive knowledge of disaster risk reduction and management, covering assessment, familiarization, planning, and budgeting. The insights gained from this event will be invaluable in improving future disaster response efforts.
